The National HIV Prevention Convention 3rd – 5th November 2009

The first ever National HIV Prevention convention finally took place on the 3rd of November 2009 through to the 5th November 2009. The convention was a great success and with high level participation from different HIV organizations and specialists it has left a time in history to always be remembered.

The convention was opened by His Excellency, President Rupiah Bwezani Banda, with company of Hon Kapembwa Simbao (Minister of Health), the National AIDS Council chairperson, Bishop Joshua Banda and many other delegates.

The convention was made a success by the hard work put in by the National ADIS Council, the steering committee which consisted of representatives from the UN and cooperating partners, TCHAZA, Image promotions, USAID, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Home Affairs and Alliance Zambia.

The convention was closed by His honor George Kunda with company of the first republican president Kenneth Kaunda, the special envoy on HIV/AIDS in Africa, the minister of health, just to mention a few.
